As we look toward 2025, Central Oregon Collective is energized by our mission to create meaningful opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to lead full and inclusive lives. The new year brings exciting possibilities to broaden our impact, strengthen our services, and amplify accessibility and inclusivity across Central Oregon. Here’s a look at our ambitious goals for the coming year and how we plan to make a lasting difference in the lives of our clients and the broader community.

Expanding Services for Individuals with IDD

Currently, we are privileged to support 64 individuals with IDD, providing essential services across Deschutes County. By 2025, our goal is to extend these services to reach an additional 120 individuals, opening up new possibilities for more families in need throughout Central Oregon, including Jefferson and Crook counties. This expansion will involve adding dedicated direct support staff and increasing the hours of service available, ensuring that those who need our services the most can access them.

How You Can Help: Spreading awareness about our services and mission can help us reach families in new areas. Your support, whether through volunteering or donations, enables us to extend our reach and fulfill our vision.

Improving Accessibility through New Infrastructure

Our commitment to accessibility is leading us toward significant infrastructure investments that will directly benefit our community. By 2034, we plan to develop a 90-110 unit apartment complex designed to meet the affordable housing needs of individuals with disabilities. This complex will include ADA-compliant units and on-site support services, providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive living environment.

To enhance mobility and ensure our clients have the freedom to participate fully in community activities, we’re also expanding our transportation fleet. By adding six wheelchair-equipped vehicles, we’re removing barriers to accessibility and ensuring that every individual has the means to attend social gatherings, medical appointments, and other essential activities.

Promoting Inclusivity in Group Homes and Beyond

Group homes form the core of our services at Central Oregon Collective, providing a safe, welcoming environment for our residents. In response to the growing demand, we aim to develop one to two new group homes each year. Each home will support three to six new residents annually, with a focus on fostering an inclusive, community-centered atmosphere. These homes will be designed with accessibility, safety, and community integration in mind, promoting a sense of belonging and independence.

Get Involved: We invite local supporters to consider volunteering with our group homes or donating to help fund these vital expansion projects. Your support helps us create spaces where every resident feels truly at home.

Supporting Wellness through In-Home and Community Inclusion Services

Helping our clients thrive in their communities is a top priority at Central Oregon Collective. Our in-home and community inclusion services empower clients to participate in activities they enjoy while receiving personalized support. With plans to increase our fleet of vehicles and bring on additional staff, we’ll be able to offer even more hours of community engagement. This means more opportunities for clients to connect with their communities, pursue their interests, and enjoy a fulfilling, balanced life.

Join Us in the Community: By volunteering with our community inclusion services, you can play a direct role in creating joyful and enriching experiences for our clients. Together, we can make a difference, one connection at a time.

Empowering Our Clients Through Compassionate Care

The heart of our work is our compassionate, dedicated team, who continuously strive to provide the highest level of support. As we look toward the future, we will continue to invest in staff training and development, ensuring that every member of our organization—whether they work in group homes or as part of our community inclusion team—receives the tools and guidance they need to provide exceptional care. Our commitment to compassionate care is about fostering independence, inclusion, and personal growth for each of our clients.

Support Our Team: We believe that our staff is our greatest asset. By supporting our training and development efforts, you’re directly contributing to the quality of care that every client receives.
